Sicilian Spring

As my dog Leo and I took our usual walk this morning, we stumbled upon some delightful new blooms: Mayweed, Blooddrops, and vibrant purple Royal Mallows. Spring has finally arrived, and I couldn't be happier to witness the colorful wildflowers flourishing outside! It's such a joy to see these natural wonders while driving along the winding country roads of Sicily.

I'm especially thrilled to spot the bright red Poppies beginning to spread throughout the area. I can't wait to forage some of them for a new collection for my cyanotype art. Additionally, I'm saving a few for my latest hobby—starting a herbarium journal. It's something I've always wanted to explore: keeping a journal of all the botanicals I collect and press. I'm glad I took the plunge, as herbarium crafting has become a wonderfully relaxing hobby.

To be honest, spring has never been my favorite season (that title belongs to fall!), but thanks to the stunning wildflowers blooming this year, my creative spirit is thriving and filled with excitement! I can already tell that my creative projects will be plentiful this season, and I can't wait to share them with all of you.
