A Season of Gratitude
It's hard to believe we're nearing the end of another year. November has quietly arrived, draped in shades of amber and gold. The air carries that familiar coolness — a gentle reminder to slow down and breathe in the beauty of the moment. Leaves dance their final waltz from the trees, pumpkins sit proudly on porches, and the comforting scent of cinnamon and spice lingers in the air.
Autumn has always been my favorite season. There's something about cozy cardigans, soft flannel, and that first sip of a pumpkin spice latte that warmly wraps the heart. This month holds an extra layer of meaning for me — it's a time of celebration in our home. My husband's birthday, our wedding anniversary, and Thanksgiving all fall within these November days, each one a tender reminder of love, family, and gratitude.
And gratitude — that's really what this season whispers about.
This year, my heart is full. I'm deeply thankful for the freedom of time and energy to keep creating art — to follow the quiet calling that guides my hands and imagination. Teaching what I love and sharing it with others remains one of the greatest joys of my life.
Being a military wife and mother while nurturing my dreams is no small thing — it's a delicate balance, but one I hold dear. I'm endlessly grateful for the unwavering support from those who believe in me and my art. Their encouragement fuels my creativity in ways words can't quite capture.
One of the biggest blessings of this year was finally returning home to the Philippines after fifteen long years. To walk familiar paths again, to hug my family, to hear the sounds and smells of my childhood — it was everything my heart needed. Even more special was bringing my daughters with me. Watching them meet my side of the family for the first time, seeing them connect with their roots, and tasting real Filipino food together — it filled me with indescribable joy. I hope it won't be another fifteen years before we go back.
As I look back on this year — the art I've made, the people I've met, the places I've been — I can only feel grateful. Life, in all its twists and turns, continues to unfold like a story I'm honored to be a part of.
So here's to this beautiful season — to slowing down, giving thanks, and holding close everything and everyone that fills our hearts.
